Law

The Master’s Degree in Law at Phnom Penh International University (PPIU) is an program designed for legal professionals, academics, and aspiring leaders who aim to achieve a profound expertise in advanced legal theory, jurisprudence, and rigorous legal research. This comprehensive curriculum bridges historical legal frameworks with contemporary statutory interpretation, empowering graduate students to dissect and address multifaceted legal challenges. By fostering critical-thinking capabilities and scholarly precision, PPIU equips its graduates to champion justice, influence policy, and provide high-level counsel within complex national and international legal landscapes. To complete master program in Law, students have 2 options. Option 1: Students have to complete 11 courses, equal to 33 credits and must complete their Master's thesis with proposal defense and final defense, which is equal to 12 credits. Option 2: Students have to complete 13 courses, equal to 39 credits and must complete their research proposal with a defense, which is equal to 6 credits. For the state exam, students have to be examined on 2 courses in Major Courses. PPIU strongly recommend student choose option 1. Students who want to pursue master course is not in majoring of bachelor, they must take pre-master with 3 courses such; Introduction to Law, Introduction to Cambodia Legal System, Introduction to Political Science. If student has relevant experience and can provide documentation, the Postgraduate School will consider waiving some courses in the pre-master program.

Entry Requirements

What you need to apply.

Academic Requirement:

Must have a Bachelor's degree or an equivalent certificate in a related field. If a student has an academic background in a different major from their bachelor's degree, they must complete a pre-master program with 3 subjects. If student has relevant experience and can provide documentation, the Postgraduate School will consider waiving some courses in the pre-master program.

Language

Khmer instruction. Some programs in English.
